So the new Altitude models for the Prado and LandCruiser 200-series are a welcome surprise to the range for 2017.

LandCruiser Prado Altitude

Previously released on the last generation model in 2015, the Altitude takes the spare wheel from the barn-door of the Prado and replaces it with a split lifting tailgate (similar to the LandCruiser 200-series.) This improves accessibility (thanks to a lighter tailgate, and glass hatch), while the styling is focused on making the LandCruiser Prado even more suited to buyers who use their 4WD in the urban jungle and not just off-road (although the lack of a fibreglass bump in the back will no doubt help reversing drivers!)

Looking out from the special edition Prado, the included tilt-and-slide moon roof will open up the interior and let the great outdoors into those long road trips cruising down the highway.

Inside, the Prado Altitude also cops digital radio, satellite navigation and roof-mounted rear seat entertainment system, previously only available in the high-spec Kakadu grade.
