Service Recalls at Motorama Toyota

Toyota Recalls | Prius, Prius V, Corolla & Rukus | Oct 08 to Feb 15 Production

June 29, 2016:  Toyota Australia have announced a recall of approximately 324,000 Prius, Prius V, Corolla and Rukus vehicles built between October 2008 and February 2015.

The recall is due to the possibility that a crack may develop on the fuel suction plate assembled to the fuel tank.

If this occurs, the crack could expand over time and fuel may eventually leak when the vehicle has a full tank of petrol.

Fuel or fuel vapor in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of a vehicle fire.

There have been nine reported cases in Australia of a crack developing in Corolla vehicles. There have been no injuries or fires as a result.

Once parts become available, Toyota Australia will contact all affected vehicle owners by mail to advise them to make an appointment at their local Toyota dealer.

For all affected vehicles, Motorama Toyota will remove, disassemble and replace the fuel suction plate.  The repair will take approximately two hours to complete and will be carried out free of charge.

Toyota Recalls | Prius | April 09 to April 12 Production

June 29, 2016:  Toyota Australia has announced a recall of approximately 4560 previous generation Prius vehicles built between April 2009 and April 2012.

The recall is due to the possibility that there may be a small crack in the weld area joining the curtain shield airbag inflator chambers.

If this happens, the crack may grow over time and lead to the separation of the airbag inflator chambers.

If an inflator separates, the curtain shield airbags could partially deploy and in limited circumstances one or both sections of the inflator could enter the interior of the vehicle. If an occupant is present in the vehicle, there may be an increased risk of injury.

There have been no reported cases in Australia of this condition.

Toyota Australia has been contacting all affected vehicle owners by mail to advise them of the recall campaign. You will need to make an appointment at the Motorama Toyota service department once parts become available.

For all affected vehicles, Motorama Toyota will install curtain shield airbag support brackets.  The repair will take approximately two hours to complete and will be carried out free of charge.
