On Sunday, 27th July, Australians came together for National Tree Day, the country's largest community tree-planting and nature care event.
In the lead-up to this national celebration, schools across the country can participate in Schools Tree Day on Friday, July 25th, allowing students to get their hands dirty for a greener future.
Motorama Toyota proudly joined Yeronga State High School in marking the occasion, supporting students as they planted their very own Olympic Forest. This symbolic initiative is a dedication to the school's outstanding athletics program and in preparation for the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
The planting took place in two key areas across the school. The morning began at H Block, where 30 native trees were planted by Yeronga's student athletes. Each student placed a personalised plaque next to their chosen tree, creating a lasting legacy and celebrating both environmental action and sporting excellence.
The second planting site was the school embankment, where enthusiastic Year 7 students rolled up their sleeves to plant additional native trees and vegetation. This area was chosen to help combat soil erosion and support the long-term sustainability of the school grounds.
In addition to native trees, a selection of seasonal vegetables was also planted to support the school's café and hospitality program. These garden beds will provide fresh produce for student meals and offer practical, hands-on learning experiences in sustainability and healthy living.
It was a morning full of energy, community pride, and shared purpose.
Motorama Toyota is proud to be part of this journey, supporting young changemakers and helping to grow a greener, healthier tomorrow.
